Good friend and uber-talented Critic/Exhibitor/Filmmaker Jonathan Dieringer dragged me out of unintentional retirement (prolonged laziness might be more accurate) this week. Jon commissioned a brief writeup detailing my experience at a recent Ken Jacobs performance, to be posted on his invaluable resource for NYC cinephiles, Screen Slate.
His website -- defiantly un-monetized -- presents comprehensive listings, easily navigable and updated daily, for NYC-area repertory and art cinema screenings. The site also sports unobtrusive commentaries and personal reactions from Jon, which are as informative as they are enjoyable.
My piece can be accessed here: http://www.screenslate.com/2011/05/13
Thanks for the assignment, Jon. Here's hoping I can use this momentum wisely.
